
Yoyohoney combine electronica and soul.
The original line-up was formed in 1991 and comprised Mani Shoniwa and Anita Jarret from Brixton London.
They signed to Zomba in 1992 and in the same year released their debut album ‘Vodoo soul’ along with the singles ‘Get it on’, ‘Groove on and ‘Don’t come to leave’.
The album which was written by Mani Shoniwa combined a forty piece orchestra and Anita Jarrett’s phenomenal vocal.
Yoyohoney have collaborated and worked with musicians including Bootsy Collins, Bernie Worrell, Tommy D, Steely & Cleevie, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Pierre, Jocelyn Brown, Tony Humphries and Max Beasley
In 1993 the original Yoyohoney line-up split up. Anita Jarret went on to provide vocals for others including ‘The Rolling Stones and Pressure Drop and Mani continued to write and produce.
A new album featuring Anna Ross and produced by Tommy D is set for release in spring 2008.
